Abstract
We describe two recent applications of the computer program GoTools that solves life & death problems in the game of Go. In one of them a large database of single eyes fully surrounded by one chain is constructed and the positions are analyzed. Strange positions that appear are filtered out and some are presented in this paper. A second application in the form of a program ScanLD allows to check thoroughly life & death problems together with given solutions. When applied to a book of 500 Korean problems, a substantial number of bugs was detected, some of which are shown in this paper.
