On Jan 20 (this saturday), chillers in the McMaster datacenter must be turned off due to building electrical work. During this time, we’ll turn off most compute nodes and may take steps to reduce power dissipation of running jobs (suspend them).

As mentioned in a preceding message, access to Iqaluk is still being granted per-user, in order to diagnose whether IO from Iqaluk is causing repeated crashes of Cove.

Iqaluk may be implicated in the recent instability of Cove (/global/c). To diagnose whether IO patterns on Iqaluk are causing the problem, we need to discuss IO with anyone wanting to use Iqaluk for access to /global/c – please open a ticket or email hahn@sharcnet.ca.
