Topic: Transitioning from Matlab to Octave Speaker: James Desjardins, SHARCNET This special interest seminar will describe the role of Octave software in the context of SHARCNET’s Matlab environment. There will be a brief description of the options for running Matlab in order to clarify Octave’s role on the SHARCNET clusters. More detailed topics will include; how to run Octave jobs, installing Octave packages (equivalents of Matlab toolboxes), some main differences between Matlab and Octave code interpretation (including resources that describe these differences in more detail), and debugging.
