Usage

Wobbie is a contributed cluster. Jobs from non-contributors are normal (i.e. not required to be short) but the contributor group sometimes asks for special access (eg. taking nodes out of the queue), or reserves a subset of nodes for exclusive use.

System Access and User Environment

Login Nodes

Wobbie's login node is wob97, which offers the Sharcnet standard (4GB) process memory limit (for login nodes), and 1hr CPU time limit.

System-specific note

Wobbie should strongly resemble Orca, with some caveats:

  1. different scheduler implementation
  2. /scratch is shared from Iqaluk
  3. large per-node raid is available as /local/tmp
  4. only gigabit interconnect, therefore not suitable for real MPI
