Description: A free interactive parallel visualization and graphical analysis tool
SHARCNET Package information: see Visit software page in web portal
Full list of SHARCNET supported software
Note: This page's content only applies to the SHARCNET's legacy systems; it does not apply to Graham.
VISIT is installed on selected fedora based SHARCNET workstations for remote graphical application usage. VISIT is not currently installed on the new Compute Canada clusters graham and cedar. If it is needed, please email email@example.com and request it. Also, please see the Visualization page on docs.computecanada.ca for additional information about visualization on Compute Canada systems.
The visit command should be found your path by default. Otherwise it can be started by running:
To establish a remote graphical connection to any of the sharcnet visualization systems where VISIT is installed, we recommend using the Web Browser (noVNC) method described in https://www.sharcnet.ca/help/index.php/Remote_Graphical_Connections
To establish a remote client-server connection between your local computer and the SHARCNET visualization systems where VisIt is installed, we recommend to check which version is installed in the visualization system and then download that version for your local computer.
