Overview

About

SHARCNET Summer School is an annual event providing attendees with opportunities to learn and share knowledge and experience in high performance and technical computing on platforms with the latest technologies. The five-day summer school, offering intensive courses on various subjects, will include lectures and computer labs with hands-on exercises on programming distributed and shared memory systems, cell systems and GPGPUs.

Call for Problem Solving Session

New this year is the opportunity to work on actual application problems. Attendees are encouraged to submit their own application problems, which they intend to solve using high performance computers. Selected problems by the organizing committee will be presented and analyzed at the problem solving workshop sessions during the summer school. Interested individuals should submit their problems to ss2009@sharcnet.ca no later than May 15, 2009. [Read more]

Financial Assistance for Student Attendees

SHARCNET offers some financial assistance to a limited number of students travelling from outside the Toronto areas. The subsidy covers accommodation in on-campus residence facilities and travel expenses subject to certain conditions. For details please check registration.

History

SHARCNET has held annual training workshops since 2001. The event moved from fall to summer in 2007, and it was extended to a week-long event with more hands-on sessions. Details on past workshops can be found at the link on the side menu.
