The annual fall workshop on scientific and high performance computing will
be hosted at the York University, Toronto, Ontario from October 17 to 19 2005. The three day workshop will be held at the Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) Centre at Keele campus (York's main campus).
The annual fall workshops have become a tradition of SHARCNET since 2001. The workshops provide a learning opportunity and a forum for the SHARCNET researcher community in the area of scientific and high performance computing.
The 2005 Workshop will focus on programming techniques, computational theory and large scale applications. The workshop will provide the audience with an opportunity of learning and sharing the knowledge and experience in high performance computing on platforms with the latest technologies.
This year's topics include, but not limited to:
Debugging parallel programs.
Performance analysis and tuning.
Experience and introduction to the message passing interface standard MPI-2.
Threaded programing using POSIX threads and OpenMP.
Programming techniques for scientific and high performance computing.
Topics on computational theory and practice.
Experience with real, large scale applications.
SHARCNET is looking forward to welcoming attendees from all areas to the workshop.
