The
Grid/Scale... menu item opens the
Scale Grid panel.
Scale Grid Panel
The
Scale Grid panel allows you to convert the grid from various units of measurement to SI or to apply custom scale factors to the individual coordinates of the grid. See Section
6.8.10 for details.
Controls
Scale Factors
contains the factors applied to the grid in each of the Cartesian coordinate directions. You can enter values manually, or use the
Grid Was Created In list to set scale factors automatically.
X
is the scale factor in the
direction.
Y
is the scale factor in the
direction.
Z
is the scale factor in the
direction (appears only in 3D).
Unit Conversion
contains controls for setting the scale factors automatically and for changing the unit of length.
Grid Was Created In
contains a list of common units of length. The
Scale Factors will automatically be set based on your selection. The units include common SI and British units such as centimeters (cm), millimeters (mm), inches (in), and feet (ft).
Change Length Units
changes the unit of length in the
Set Units panel so that
FLUENT will expect you to enter all lengths for the problem in the new unit. If you click on
Change Length Units, the
Domain Extents will be displayed in the units selected in the
Grid Was Created In list, but you must remember to click on
Scale to scale the grid.
Domain Extents
displays the Cartesian coordinate extremes of the nodes in the grid. (These values are not editable; they are purely informational.)
Xmin, Ymin, Zmin
shows the minimum values of Cartesian coordinates in the grid.
Xmax, Ymax, Zmax
shows the maximum values of Cartesian coordinates in the grid.
Scale
multiplies each of the node coordinates by the specified scale factors.
Unscale
divides each of the node coordinates by the specified scale factors.
