Cell BE Programming

This half day introductory course will walk through the fundamentals of the programming paradigm for programming IBM Cell processors. Programming IBM Cell processors involves writing programmes in C for the PPE and SPEs. This lecture will teach students how to write code for the control stream on the PPE using POSIX thread API and the compute streams on the SPEs using an API provided by the IBM Cell programming SDK.

Prerequisites: The students are expected to be familiar with the C programming language and understand the concepts of multithreaded programming.
