Getting An Account

Anyone who would like to use SHARCNET supercomputing resources may apply for an account that allows access systems at all SHARCNET sites. To apply for an account, there are some requirements:

• Primary accounts are available to faculty at Canadian institutions; non-Canadian faculty may be approved by the Scientific Director.
• Students, postdocs and research fellows are also welcome to accounts, "sponsored" by a faculty-level account-holder. There are no shared/group accounts: each person who uses SHARCNET requires their own account.
• The sponsor of a group of accounts is responsible for providing SHARCNET with citations for publications aided by SHARCNET resources.
• You must have an institutional email account so we can contact you; commercial email accounts such as Yahoo or Hotmail are not acceptable.
• All SHARCNET users must read and follow the policies listed here.
